A new course for home haunters, DIY prop builders, and Halloween fanatics who want to create a better haunt without wasting time, money, or sanity.
I’m putting together a step-by-step course based on what I’ve learned building and running a real home haunted trail — from scene planning and prop builds to lighting, audio, operations, teardown, marketing, and all the little mistakes that can make haunt season harder than it needs to be.
If you want to be first to know when it launches, join the waitlist below.
This course is designed to help home haunters build something immersive, manageable, and memorable — whether you’re starting with a front yard, a backyard trail, or a few scenes you want to level up.
This is not “throw some decorations in the yard and hope for the best.” It’s a practical course built from real-world trial and error, meant for people who want more than a basic display and need a clear path from idea to open night.
I’ll also be covering the boring-but-critical details most people skip — like what features to look for when buying amplifiers, projectors, lighting, and playback gear so you don’t end up with equipment that makes setup miserable.
This course is for:
It’s especially for people who have ever thought: “I know I can make this cooler — I just need someone to show me how to put all the pieces together.”

On Saturday, October 31, the trail opens early at 5:00 PM for trick-or-treaters and families who would like to experience the haunt before dark.
From 5:00–7:00 PM:
The trail will close temporarily from 7:00–8:00 PM so the team can prepare for the full nighttime haunt. It reopens at 8:00 PM sharp with scare actors, special effects and the complete after-dark experience.
Your walk takes you through six original scenes, each designed and built with handcrafted Halloween artistry. Expect a cinematic mix of haunting environments, custom props, themed facades, animatronics, sound, darkness, and surprises.
The trail is suitable for all ages, but parents and guardians should use their own judgment, especially for very young children or guests sensitive to darkness, loud noises, sudden movement, or jump scares.
Memento Mori Props Backyard Haunted Trail is a free, self-guided outdoor home-haunt experience. By choosing to enter the trail, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. You acknowledge that the experience may include darkness, uneven terrain, tripping hazards, loud noises, fog, flashing or changing lights, animatronics, sudden movement, jump scares, and—on designated actor nights—live scare actors.
By entering, you agree to use caution, follow all posted rules and directions, supervise children in your care, and accept responsibility for your own safety and personal property. Memento Mori Props, Ashley Burnett, volunteers, and property owners are not responsible for injuries, accidents, lost or damaged belongings, or other incidents that may occur while visiting or participating in the trail experience. If you are uncomfortable with these conditions, please do not enter the trail.
Please read and follow these guidelines:
The trail is planned to operate rain or shine. In wet conditions, the ground may become slippery, so please use extreme caution.
For safety, certain electronic special effects, lighting elements, or animatronics may be limited or turned off during rain or severe weather. Conditions may also require changes to operations at any time.
First and foremost, this is my yard, not a commericial business, so set your expectations accordingly.
This is an outdoor backyard trail with natural terrain, darkness, uneven areas, and no formal accessibility accommodations. There are also no restrooms available on site.
If you have an accommodation request, email [email protected] before your visit. We will make every reasonable effort to help where possible because we want everyone to be able to enjoy it.

This is built specifically for Halloween creators, home haunters, and seasonal content brands. My goal is simple: help the home haunt community grow, get seen, and succeed online.
If you’re creating props, building displays, or running a haunt and trying to grow on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube—guessing isn’t enough. You need a strategy that works with seasonal algorithms and limited time windows.
Halloween creators, home haunters, and seasonal brands who want to stop guessing and start growing with a clear plan—before the season passes.
Spots are limited. If you’re ready to grow your audience and make your content work for you, apply below or comment “coaching” on my socials to get started.
Let’s build something that actually gets seen this season.
Step 1: Purchase the Artwork
Your purchase includes the digital **Gothic Window Facade** artwork for personal use. After checkout, download the file and have it printed through a service that offers custom shower-curtain printing.
Step 2: Print It on a Shower Curtain
For the shower curtains I use for projects like this, visit my recommended SHEIN link:
Shop My Favorite SHEIN Shower Curtains
This link includes the exact shower curtain I like to use for Gothic Window Facades and projects such as my Circus Posters. Before ordering, always review the listing for the current dimensions, material, and availability.
Customize the artwork
The goal is not to make every window identical—the goal is to make the finished facade work beautifully for your house.
Step 3: Build the Frame
Watch the video for a high-level guide to building the frame. The most important rule: build the frame to fit your windows, not mine.
I built a frame from 1×3 boards because they are lightweight, inexpensive, and more durable than foam alone. I want these to last!
Frame-building tips
Step 4: Add Trim
The shower curtain will not perfectly match the proportions of your particular windows most likely—and that is completely normal. Trim is your opportunity to hide the edges, disguise the frame, and make the whole piece look intentional.
I used foam trim, carved to mimic old weathered wood, because it is lightweight and gives the facade a slightly exaggerated, cartoonish storybook look. Regular wood trim works well too, especially if you want a more realistic architectural finish.
For a deeper walkthrough, see my foam-carving tutorial for creating faux wood and the tools I use.
Step 5: Mount It to Your House
Every home, exterior surface, and window layout is different, so choose a mounting method that is secure for your installation and appropriate for your house. I chose a reusable, more permanent mounting solution for my brick exterior.
For my setup, I drilled a pilot hole with a masonry bit, then attached a 1-inch L-bracket to the brick using a masonry screw. I sealed the hole and painted the bracket brown so it blended in with the brick.
The frame rests directly on top of the bracket. I added a small hole in the frame so I could secure it to the bracket with either a screw or a carabiner.
